This trip promises not only awe-inspiring scenery but also traditional Slovenian cuisine, expertly guided experiences, shuttle buses whisking you from one exciting stop to another, and the highlight of the legendary Komasutra Beer and Music Festival, every day is packed with adventure.
And of course, let’s not forget, lots of crisp, refreshing, icy cold beer, along the way to quench your thirst!
23rd – 28th June 2025 BEER LOVERS TOUR, SLOVENIA
Day 1 – Hotel Grof Arrival & Spirits Experience
After a scenic countryside transfer, kick off the week with a refreshing Green Gold Beer and check in to Hotel Grof — a luxury retreat surrounded by mountains and hop fields, complete with a fitness suite, restaurant, and outdoor terraces.
Your first adventure takes you to the village of Tabor for a traditional Slovenian spirits and cider tasting, hosted by the Vice Mayor of the Savinja Valley. Discover age-old distilling techniques and sample local favourites.
The evening ends with a BBQ feast featuring roasted piglet and regional dishes, served with stunning views. A flavourful welcome to Slovenia awaits.
Day 2 – Castles and Festivals
Visit Slovenia’s most impressive medieval fortresses, the magnificent 13th Century Celje Castle. Step back in time and immerse yourself in hundreds of years of history. Take in the spectacular panoramic views that stretch over the vibrant city of Celje before enjoying a VR experience that transports you to the Castle’s storied past.
Then onto Komasutra Beer and Music Festival, where Green Gold Brewing invites you to celebrate with them at their annual music festival, held right at the heart of their brewery. With over 3,000 people, traditional food, street food, bands, DJ’s, variety of craft beers and games, this promises to be a day to remember!
What’s more, you don’t need to worry about getting back to the hotel – Shuttles will whisk you back at 11pm or at midnight.
Day 3 – Boats on Lake Bled
Enjoy a guided tour of Slovenia’s most iconic destination — the stunning Lake Bled. Surrounded by mountains, this peaceful spot is perfect for soaking up natural beauty. Glide across the lake on a traditional Pletna boat to Bled Island, where you’ll visit the charming church and capture unforgettable views. Don’t forget your camera!
Then you’ll Visit Matjovc Distillery, located near the enchanting town of Bled, for a history and tasting of complimentary traditional Slovenian spirits, with charcuterie boards of local meats, cheeses and breads included
End the day with a party at the famous Pumpa Cafe, a legendary petrol station-turned-bar, where festivities will continue late into the night. (Drinks not included)
11pm or 12am midnight return shuttle transfer to Hotel Grof
Day 4 – Mountains, Burgers and Beer
On day four, you’ll experience the awe-inspiring beauty of Slovenia with a morning trip to the Logar Valley, one of Slovenia’s most breathtaking alpine landscapes.
Lunch at the renowned Zmajeva Votlina (Dragon’s Cave): Famous for their gourmet burgers and perfectly paired with a selection of craft beers.
Visit Green Gold Brewing & the Rojnik family hop farm: Learn about hop cultivation and beer production first hand from the Rojnik family, learning about Slovenia’s brewing heritage before a beer tasting session of their award-winning beer.
As day turns to night, enjoy an evening feast and party under the traditional wooden hayrack at the Rojnik family Farm, with traditional Slovenian food, music and beer.
Return shuttle transfer to Hotel Grof at 11pm or 12am midnight
Day 5 – Slovenian Hops, Beer Fountain & Caves
The day begins with a morning guided tour of the Slovenian Institute of Hop Research & Brewing and Hop Museum in Žalec. Followed by a visit to the world-famous Beer Fountain, where craft beer flows instead of water. You’ll be treated to tasting of 6 beers paired with delicious Slovenian Charcuterie boards.
You’ll spend the afternoon on an excursion to Pekel Cave, one of Slovenia’s largest and most mysterious caves. More than 3 million years old, see the Peklenščica Stream, leading to the greatest monument in the cave, the highest underground waterfall in Slovenia.
Follow this with the famous Franci’s restaurant, Gostilna Privošnik, home to the legendary Franci lager and authentic Slovenian cuisine where you will enjoy a traditional Slovenian dinner.
Return shuttle transfer at 11pm or 12am midnight back to Hotel Grof.
Day 6 – Ljubljana and farewell
Rise and shine, and checkout from Hotel Grof before shuttle transfer to Ljubljana, Slovenia’s stunning capital, a full-day guided tour with history, charm and beautiful buildings. Wandering through the cobbled streets, visiting several craft beer pubs, tour of the majestic castle and taking in historical landmarks.
Shuttle transfer to Airport, time to say goodbye to all your newfound beer loving friends and lots of amazing memories!!
