What I loved about it:

Other than the food, which was amazing during every course, the service is what stood out for me. You certainly get what you pay for and I couldn’t fault the service from Justina who looked after us with her in depth knowledge of the food and drinks.

Location:

Liverpool ONE

Suitable for:

Couples, family occasions, lunch date, and soon to be – breakfast. They do have a kids menu but I personally wouldn’t take them of an evening.

Value for money (out of 10):

Gordon Ramsey's Bread Street Kitchen

This amazing new addition to Liverpool is situated in Liverpool ONE nestled right in next to John Lewis. They are in good company in a row of some amazing restaurants. I absolutely can’t wait to come back in the summer as their outdoor space looked just as amazing as inside. You will find me sitting in the sun with a lovely BB cocktail which is: Bombay Bramble gin, elderflower cordial, agave syrup and lemon. You have to try one it was gorgeous. I know first-hand just how good their cocktails are.

When we got inside I couldn’t help but find myself admiring the decor, it’s so beautifully finished. I was envious of their lighting which oozed industrial chic. Within 5 minutes of being seated, we had water, cocktails and nibbles ordered for the table.

I am typically always the type of person who has been on the website, downloaded the PDF menu and picked out EXACTLY what I want to order. On this occasion, I had been so busy all week I hadn’t had a minute to even think about it until on the train into town. Mark and I had a mooch at the menu and said sharing steak for us. Apologies to any of my plant-based friends but if you follow me on Instagram you will know I love a good steak. Our arranged food plan was quickly ditched after we were also given the menu for the Bread Street Kitchen “Beef Wellington Experience” which neither of us spotted online.

Now let’s face it, unless you are a banging good cook nobody can be bothered to make a beef wellington. It’s a big commitment and if not done right really isn’t worth the effort or wait. Why would you not wait to order this knowing that 1) You haven’t had to mess about making it 2) It’s a dish Gordon Ramsey is well known for so you know that it is going to be good.

For starters, we had a sharing platter which included: potted Cumbrian beef brisket, grain mustard, piccalilli and seeded crackers. Tamarind chicken wings. And spicy tuna tartare with Wonton crisps. I enjoyed all the starters but I especially enjoyed the Tuna tartare it was so good I ate it all.

The main course was the show stopper. It was cooked to perfection with the most lovely crispy pastry on the outside and lovely pink fillet of beef inside. This was served up with mash, honey roasted carrots and an amazing red wine jus. The meal was amazing the steak inside was exactly how I like it.

For dessert, we had a sharing platter and, wow! As soon as it arrived I suddenly regretted eating every last bit from the main because I was pretty full at this point. We had cheesecake, raspberry sorbet, salted caramel ice cream, chocolate fondant and coconut ice cream with sliced kiwi and pineapple. If you saw this on my stories you will have seen that perfect M&S food advert moment of the fondant oozing out it was perfect and tasted so rich and delicious.

We opted for the Wine pairing with each course and I loved this. The wines were all lovely and were paired perfectly to each course. It was a nice addition to the service to have the wine pairing explained and details of where each wine was from and how it complimented the course.
