Cheshire Christmas Tree Farms 2021
It won’t be long before the Cheshire Christmas tree farms (and shops) start to open and begin selling their perfect trees ready for Christmas 2021. With many opening at the end of November, and some even opening their doors earlier than that for handpicking and reservation, it is crucial to know where you can support locally rather than buying from a supermarket this year.
The process of picking out a tree at a Cheshire Christmas tree farm is also a wonderful family-friendly event and this year, more than ever, we are excited to restart our annual traditions that were otherwise halted last year. I imagine many will be putting up their trees even earlier this year and starting the celebrations as soon as possible!
I have tried to cover all corners of Cheshire, and the wider North West region, to allow you to select your closest Cheshire Christmas tree farm and support local.

This is our closest Christmas tree farm and although small, they have grown a range of trees and sizes that you can select and cut yourself (or they will do it for you). They also have freshly cut trees available to take too and planted trees. There is often a selection of fresh wreaths, crem pots, and Christmas flower displays available to purchase too.

We were kindly invited down to Backford Christmas Tree Farm to pick a tree last year and it was a wonderful experience. There are thousands of trees available to select straight from the field. Non-needle drop trees from £15 and a huge range of sizes up to 25ft. Decorated wreaths also available.

A favourite Cheshire Christmas tree farm, they offer a ‘First to the Field’ weekend, where you can select your still growing tree and reserve it for collection when you are ready. This year’s dates have been confirmed as Saturday, November 13th, and 14th November 2021.
The farm will then be open for the season from Friday 19th November through to 20th December 2020. Check their website for opening days and hours. Their SustainabiliTREE event will return on the 20th and 21st of November 2021 where for every tree you buy, you receive a free mini tree to plant at home (1 tree per household).

Located close to the scenic Delamere Forest, you can wander through the 10,000 trees, 5 different varieties, to hand select your perfect tree. There are also two sites within Delamere Forest itself where you can buy their freshly cut trees. Delamere Railway Station (next to Station House café) and on Forest Road, Norley, just past Hatchmere Lake.

One of the quaintest Cheshire Christmas Tree Farms; Ivy Cottage has Norway Spruce, Nordmann and Fraser Firs growing in their fields in Wilmslow. They are bought to the Christmas Shop onsite for sale but there is also the option to go out into the field and hand select a tree. The Christmas Shop is open 7 days during the festive season and sells a huge range of decorations.

Bents at Christmas is always a great idea! They do Christmas so well and it is always worth a trip in the run up to look at all their festive displays. Every indoor and outdoor decoration you can imagine is available to purchase as well as fake Christmas trees and gifts galore.
They do also stock real Christmas trees in their garden centre closer to Christmas. You can book a table in their restaurant online in advance of your visit to save any disappointment.

Kenyon Hall Farm with have their indoor forest of real trees open in late November, all freshly cut Nordmann and Fraser Fir. Living trees in pots will also be available as well plenty of fresh seasonal produce from local suppliers and homegrown on the farm.

Tarvin Sands Reindeer Centre and Fishery is home to a large group of Scandanavian Reindeers that are very friendly and kept incredibly busy during the festive period!
The farm is also selling tickets for their Magical Christmas Drive-In Show with tickets available to buy (check handy links) and you can also pre-order your Christmas tree ranging in height from 5-7ft for £35 upwards. Check their Facebook page for updates.

This family-run business showcases the absolute best of local produce in their farm shop; in the run-up to Christmas has the impressive Christmas barn and Pop Up Christmas Shop selling gifts, decorations, and homeware.

Heaton House Farm goes all out at Christmas! The shop stocks a wide selection of the finest Christmas trees in the area as well as incredible turkeys, geese, and even pheasants. There are also wreaths, locally brewed beer and homemade jams, chutneys, and Christmas Puddings too.

Libby’s Patch in Gawsworth open their Christmas Tree Forest, just south of Macclesfield, for a Winter family day out. Pre-order your Christmas tree with a £15 deposit online and then go down and select your tree from the three sizes available in the forest, prices starting from £35.
Open Thursday to Sunday from 25th November – 19th December and then 20th 22nd December 2021, book your visiting day online (see handy links)
