a little sunday afternoon day date
I was recently invited along to review LEAF on Smithdown road to celebrate their month of love this February. I took my partner Mark along with and we had a few hours away from the kids on a Sunday which I can confirm was lovely. I think I will 100% be getting the grandparents to look after them again on a Sunday afternoon so me and mark can go out and have a nice little Sunday dinner away from the womb gremlins.
If you haven’t been along Smithdown Road recently it’s an absolute hot spot for good food so you will be spoilt for choice on deciding where to go. So hopefully this review will entice you to pick LEAF because its 100% worth a visit.
As soon as we arrived it was bustling, and the atmosphere was great. It was nice to see it busy as I know hospitality had really suffered lately.
After being sat down we were offered some cocktails and Mark’s face was a picture. I think he thought he was going to have to pick a girly cocktail off the menu and risk looking un-masculine. Well after looking the old fashioned caught this eye so we both got a cocktail I opted for a pornstar martini which is my go too cocktail and it was lovely.
After much deliberation of what starters to have as there was so many amazing options, I went for Chorizo in honey glaze with focaccia and mark had lamb and feta spring rolls with spicy Mayo. My chorizo was cooked to perfection. The honey glaze was so amazing and perfect for dipping. Could have just had this starter main and dessert it was so good.
If it’s Sunday, then it’s roast day for me! I absolutely live for a roast dinner on a Sunday. A Sunday roast out is always instantly better when you don’t have to do the cleaning up involved.
My roast dinner was absolutely gorgeous. It had all the trimmings from roast potatoes, stuffing, carrot and swede mash. The best bit for me was the Lamb & meet gravy.
Honestly the Main’s would have been enough, but I have such a sweet tooth I couldn’t resist pudding. We got the Love to share chocolate fondue which is a special for the Month of Love LEAF have on this February with lots of amazing specials and events. If you want more details on these events check the link above.
The Dessert had an amazing selection of fruit, cakes and brownies to dip in some lovely melted chocolate. This is the perfect starter to share no matter who you are with so even if you’re with a mate or a date you need to order this.
So if this sounds like the perfect date night then get yourself booked in at LEAF Smithdown road for celebrating valentines with a whole month of love this February.
