Wellness-essary is a new female-founded app all about helping every person prioritise holistic wellbeing and feeling their best both mentally and physically.

Focusing on your wellness is necessary, and I'm all for anything that helps with carving out time and reducing obstacles.

This is where the app comes in, there is so much to discover, all provided by co-founders Blaise and Laura, from a variety of different yoga and meditation practices to live sessions and celebrations, information on moon phases, personal development courses and so much more!

I got to try it out in depth for a month, and these are my thoughts…

There is a lot of information out there about “wellness”, how to be your “best self”, and so many people telling you exactly what has “worked” for them. This can be really helpful but also overwhelming, and currently, a lot of discourse surrounding wellness is very exclusive, inaccessible and ultimately perpetuating a narrative of productivity, as if wellbeing is something you can quickly tick off a list!

What I liked about this app is that all the information is compiled in one place, which makes things a lot less overwhelming. The app contains valuable, and cohesive information all accessible within a single space, and there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Also…if you are reading this then you might be a fellow travel-lover, so having all your wellness tools within the app on your phone means you can access them anywhere- wherever you are you can still do a daily guided meditation or even join the live classes.

What I loved about the app:

One of the really unique elements of Wellness-essary are the ‘workplace wellness’ sessions- a collection of different practices including breathwork, visualisation, desktop yoga flows and somatic techniques which you can practice before, during or after work.

This is really useful to someone like me; I always do my yoga and meditation in the morning, but then during the working day I can get so caught up in the to-dos and the general work environment, that I feel like I almost lose that connection to the stillness and peace that I cultivated earlier in the day. So even a 5 minute breathing exercise whilst sitting at my desk really can make all the difference.

I also enjoyed the ‘energy forecasts’, which are available each month, and are essentially videos explaining the energies that may be present during the month, the influences of the full and new moons, and what may feel particularly heightened at these times. During 2025 I started learning more about living by the phases of the moon, as opposed to the traditional man-made calendar and expectations.

Of course, with the way the world is currently, we all have commitments and have to abide by certain time scales, but even having an awareness of the moon phases and their energies is a big step – a rebellion! And a move towards understanding ourselves a bit better. So to have these videos to come to every month and work with is definitely very valuable, especially if you are a beginner in this area.

A wellness community

It is really important to foster a sense of community when talking about wellness- we are all trying our best and we can support each other in this! This is something I think Wellness-essary does really well, as there is a group chat you can join to connect with like-minded people, with wellbeing tips shared and live session reminders as well as the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas.

I look forward to seeing the app develop and would personally love to see a greater variety of sound healing sessions on the app including voiceless sessions with Himalayan bowls or gongs, and maybe even a blog post tab on the app to encourage learning about wellness- related topics, as an alternative to watching videos.

If you want to learn more about taking care of yourself, and try different techniques and practices this year, then Wellness-essary could be a great place to start!  You can now download the app on the app store and subscribe 🙂
