London’s Best Kept Secret? The New Summer Terrace at St. Ermin’s – featuring Louis Pommery & sushi

When we received the invitation at Girl About Travel HQ and saw who the wine collaboration was, we knew we had to call in Girl About Hampshire.
The Summer Terrace at St. Ermin’s (Featuring Louis Pommery & Sushi)
The terrace is tucked away, with views out over the charming red-brick exterior of the hotel itself. Launched at the end of April, you can book a table for a ‘Sip and Sushi’ where you’ll sample a glass of Louis Pommery English Sparkling Wine, and a fresh plate of sumptuous sushi.
Despite being located in one of the City’s busiest tourist areas (you’re surrounded by Buckingham Palace, St James’ Park and Westminster), it’s surprisingly quiet, and the musician’s dulcet tones carry over the evening air.
This Summer, St Ermin’s is partnering with Louis Pommery – yes, you may associate them with Champagne, but this is the English Sparkling Wine’s time to shine. Girl About Hampshire’s Sarah says “this is probably one of the lesser known Hampshire vineyards; but do not underestimate its crisp and refreshing bubbles which pair beautifully with sushi”.
Sarah recommends the spicy tuna roll with the non-vintage Brut, and the Rosé with the vegan sushi which included the most amazing pickled shimeji mushrooms.
“The highlight of the evening had to be the St Ermin’s 75” says Sarah, “When you mix the acidic tones of the Louis Pommery with the hotel’s own gin (made from garden botanicals), and fresh lemon – its a wonderful citrus kick perfect for a Sundowner”.
Sushi might not be the first thing you expect at a Westminster hotel steeped in history, but that makes it all the more exciting.
One to visit as the weather warms up for sure!
