Lumagica St Albans is a lovely interactive light trail and show, taking place at Willows Farm until 30th December.
It’s a magical experience with the twinkly lights and calming sounds made from the interactive elements. Kids absolutely love it as they can push buttons, run under light tunnels and bang gongs making their own light show. Adults can enjoy being snap happy getting that perfect Instagram shot.
The complete loop, plus the light show takes around an hour, depending on how long you stop for pictures (or running after unruly kids!). You can fuel up with refreshments at the farm café either before or after you do the trail.
With nearly every winter light show being focused around Christmas, with illuminated Santas and reindeers etc, I really liked the fact that this wasn’t and is therefore a lovely non-Christmassy experience for those that don’t celebrate the holiday.
At the end of the trail you reach the light show which really was spectacular. Showing over the lake, lights shine onto sprayed water producing the most breathtaking effects, with life-like dolphins seemingly jump out of the water, the Northern Lights, fireworks, fierce roaring lions plus more, all in time to a rousing soundtrack.
Although not cheap with tickets starting from £20 per person, I’d recommend this as a lovely wintery treat for those who perhaps tire of the yuletide overload!
