Glamping in Worcestershire - a review of Crabmill Glampsite
What I loved about it:
Last week we went Glamping in Worcestershire and had a wonderful time! The loveable features of this accommodation were the location, the coziness of the cabin itself, the bubbling hot tub, the far-reaching countryside views and the friendliness of the owners. If you are looking for Worcestershire glamping sites, I highly recommend this one. It opened in June 2022 and already has a raft of five-star reviews.
I want to highlight the service levels and attitude of the owners, as this can quite often make or break a holiday. The interactions with people you encounter sets the tone for the stay, and I cannot rate Crabmill Glamping highly enough. Nothing was too much trouble at any time of the day or evening, and they really went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. If you want to go Glamping in Worcestershire, this little holiday park is where to go! Now, to the next major plus point of this glamp site:

What to expect from Crabmill Glamping:
We drove down a pretty lane where a few friendly sheep were waiting to welcome us! We soon reached the glamping pods which were situated on the edge of a gorgeous green field. It was the view of the hills and the Far Forest that struck us immediately! We were very lucky that the blue sky was peppered only with a few white clouds. We had driven from the visitor’s centre car park at the Wyre Forest which was the second stop on our couple’s minibreak. (The first stop was for brunch at a bright and bustling eatery named the Fig and Favour. I recommend the avocado on toast or the mixed berry pancakes with maple syrup).
The Wyre Forest was only a ten-minute drive from the glampsite so it was easy to find. The vibe was very relaxed, and we were immediately made to feel like friends as well as guests.
The rounded wooden pods contain a comfortable double bed, ensuite shower with toilet, sink and mirror. There was a place to hang your towels and a tray to put your toiletries in. The shower was hot and powerful which is always important for me! We were also pleased that bed linen was provided so we only had to bring our own towels. I recommend two each due to the hot tub.
The living area was designed to maximise the space and there was a small table suitable for two persons to eat at. In the kitchen there was a fridge with a mini freezer space, a sink with hot running water, a kettle, microwave and small plug-in tabletop hob with two rings. We found ample kitchenware, cups and crockery etc. There were also a few nice touches such as that tea, coffee and sugar were provided although no other perishables.
It is advisable to cook simple meals whilst staying here and to plan in advance. We did a very small supermarket shop before leaving Birmingham and dined on soup with warm rolls, filled tortellini and salad and some GU millionaires’ cheesecakes. There was however a small barbeque for outdoor cooking which would double up as a little fire pit to huddle around on a summer evening! We brought plenty of water, other drinks and snacks and pastries for breakfast the next day. We also brought our own milk, butter, sauce, salt and pepper.
Check in was 3pm so we arrived around this time and went straight into the hot tub. The rest of the evening was spent in and out of the tub, eating and drinking. We also brought a mini speaker to listen to music. We managed to get a signal on our phones. It wasn’t strong, but it was sufficient enough to post on Instagram!
I’ve already visited many of the places in this area and so, we were there primarily for the accommodation and a rest. I wanted to maximise our one night there and so the morning was spent having a leisurely breakfast and another dip in the tub.
If you want to go glamping in Worcestershire and are looking for an active stay, take advantage of the local attractions! My recommendations are as follows:
The Wyre Forest – activities include walking, cycling, horse riding, Go Ape (high ropes and zip wires), yoga, orienteering, children’s trails and a playground.
West Midlands Safari Park – a major midlands attraction with a safari drive through, sealion shows, amusement park, dinosaur walk through and other seasonal exhibits. Have a look at my Instagram post for more.
Severn Valley Railway – a traditional steam train running from Kidderminster station to Bridgnorth Station.
Arley Arboretum – Arley is a beautiful little village and so a worthwhile stop on the Severn Valley Railway. It is possible to walk from Arley train station to Arley Arboretum. You can stop off at the little pub on the way. The Arboretum is also a wedding venue and has stunning gardens, children’s play areas and a café. You can find out all about it on my Instagram posts.
The Habberley Trail – one of my favourite outdoor attractions with kids. A fun walk across the fields with numerous obstacles to tackle such as balance beams, swings, slides, basketball and a maze.
Bodenham Arboretum – a beautiful garden in all seasons with a wonderful cafe, animals and trails for children.
Severn Valley Country Park and Engine House
Kinver Edge and the Rock Houses – a scenic walk with interesting little houses to be found in the rocks.
Dudmaston – an impressive national trust property.
Brignorth Cliff Railway – Top Station
Severn Valley Quad Trekking – an adventurous activity in the surrounding countryside
Please refer to the links below and also my Instagram page as I have posted content (either photographs / a reel or a review) for most of these places.
In summary, I couldn’t really ask for more than we found at this site for glamping in Worcestershire. It is cozy with everything you need on hand, a touch of luxury, excellent service levels and within easy reach of a wide range of activities. I would definitely return.
