Rosé and Roses: Inside the Summer Garden Launch at The Greyhound on the Test
With the gentle sound of the River Test flowing nearby and a crisp glass of organic French rosé in hand, it felt as though summer was just around the corner.
I was invited down to the iconic Greyhound on the Test in Stockbridge to celebrate the launch of their stunning riverside garden, created in partnership with Château Léoube.
Trust me, you’re going to want to add this to your summer bucket list immediately.
The Ultimate Summer Pub Garden Vibe
The Greyhound has always been an excellent Hampshire pub (and restaurant and B&B), but this summer, they’ve elevated their riverside garden into something truly magical. They’ve partnered with Léoube; famous for their organic Provence wines. Twilight Trees provide the delicate cherry blossom decor; the perfect backdrop for a long, lazy afternoon with your favourite people.
On the Menu: Sharing Boards & Crisp Rosé
The concept for the summer garden is all about connection, long conversations, and incredible food meant to be shared. The Greyhound has launched a bespoke sharing board menu that perfectly complements the wine list.
Here is what you can look forward to:
- The Food: The menu features beautifully curated sharing platters. We grazed on artisan charcuterie, locally sourced cheeses, and vibrant, seasonal small bites. Sophisticated yet laid-back; it has also been described as ‘posh picky bits’.
- The Wine: The star of the show is the Léoube selection. They are incredibly crisp, elegant, and practically taste like sunshine in a glass. They also make a mediterranean gin distilled with olives and wow! One of the best G&Ts I’ve had in a long time which leaves an almost savoury mouthfeel.
Whether you are planning a chic girls’ night out, a romantic date evening, or a Sunday afternoon wind-down, this is the spot for 2026. The sun goes down just at the right angle over the weir, and you may spot a trout or two.
