Spring Staycations: UK Camping, Glamping & Caravan Sites for March, April & May 2026

Whether you’re planning a March escape, an Easter break in April, or a sunny May weekend away, I’ve put together a guide for outdoor loving families on camping, glamping and caravan sites that deserve a spot on your 2026 spring bucket list - with some great nearby attractions too.

Humble Bee Farm – Scarborough, North Yorkshire

Farmyard Fun & Lambing Season
At the top of our list is the charming Humble Bee Farm, a retreat tucked away in the Yorkshire Wolds which offers a truly unique experience for its lucky guests, especially budding mini farmers. Every morning at 9am excited children join Farmer Percy on his rounds, tending to the farmyard gang. The most popular member of the gang is Tilly, a Shetland pony with an adorable pot belly who loves to shake her mane and say hello. The children can also expect to visit the alpacas, donkeys, sheep and smaller animals on their rounds around the farm.
Lambing season, which begins in March, is an incredibly special time on the farm. Farmer Percy is preparing the maternity ward as we speak, whilst the expectant ewes have been pampered and pedicured. On selected Fridays and Saturdays in March, guests have the opportunity to hold or bottle feed a lamb, and, if lucky enough may even see one being born! I cannot tell you how excited I am to experience this with Luca. He adores farm animals and babies, so a combination of both means he’s going to be in his little element. This experience is free for guests staying on site, but remember to book your slot.
Walks, Attractions & Little Luxuries
As I’ll be solo-parenting for part of our stay in a small white box on wheels, it was important we booked a site that has plenty to keep kids occupied. At Humble Bee Farm you’re spoilt for choice with incredible walks from site and nearby. The on-site nature trail is great for little legs, whilst Staxton Hill, part of the Yorkshire Wolds Way, offers stunning countryside views. There’s also the coast a short drive away, and attractions such as Castle Howard and The North Yorkshire Moor Railway.
I’m looking forward to getting out in the fresh air with Luca, and coming back to a pre-ordered pizza from the on-site Hive cafe bar. It’s little touches like this that make caravanning with kids easier.
Why It’s on Our Spring List
Humble Bee Farm has been on our Yorkshire wish list for a while now. When they published their Easter timetable last year of alpaca adventures, Punch and Judy shows and face painting, we were kicking ourselves that the site was booked up for tourers; I wasn’t making the same mistake this year. Follow along to see what we get up to in March with the farmyard gang – who knows, maybe we’ll be lucky enough to see a lamb being born, that would be truly amazing.

Wooda Farm Holiday Park – Bude, Cornwall
Touring | Camping | Luxury Lodges | Holiday Homes | S-Pods
Spring Scenery & Nature Trails
Further down the country is Wooda Farm, a beautiful 5 star farm-come-holiday-park nestled in the Cornish Countryside. With snow drops, daffodils and primroses signalling the start of spring along their on-site nature trail; it’s the perfect place to spend the season. Budding botanists can become official “Wooda Nature Explorers”, by picking up a nature passport and answering questions along the interactive route.
It’s not just the stunning on-site scenery that draws me to Wooda Farm, it’s their love of the season, which they embrace fully with a fitting timetable of events and activities.
Easter Events & Activities
The park reopens on the 14th March 2026, with Easter events kicking off from the 2nd April, here’s what’s on:
- Thursday 2nd April onwards (throughout the season) – Cousin Jack: A popular live band who perform Cornish folk and shanty songs.
- Saturday 4th April – Children’s football, children’s archery, Easter arts and crafts.
- Sunday 5th April – Easter Egg Hunt.
- Monday 6th April – Tractor rides around the farm, live music from James Dixon.
- Tuesday 7th April – Pottery Painting.
Why We Love Wooda
Their schedule has a great mix of activities for kids and adults. I could fully picture Luca running wild around the Easter egg hunt and us enjoying a cocktail from The Loft Cocktail bar whilst listening to some live music. If we ever take the caravan for a journey down South, Wooda Farm (and their cocktail bar) is at the top of my list.

Woodhouse Farm Holiday Park – Ripon, North Yorkshire
Touring | Camping | Camping Pods | Holiday Homes
A Firm Family Favourite
If you’ve been following me for a while now, you’ll know Woodhouse Farm in Ripon is one of my favourite sites. This hidden gem can be found off the beaten path in the Nidderdale countryside, set within 50 acres of farm and woodland. Woodhouse Farm is the place we keep coming back to.
It may be because there are not 1, not 2, but 3 play areas on site for kids, one of which is a sand-pit tractor. There’s also cute farm animals, a bike pump track and indoor soft play for spring showers.
Nearby Days Out
May is our favourite month to visit. The weather is warm enough to enjoy a bevvy in the on-site pub’s beer garden, but cool enough to explore natures own assault course at Brimham Rocks (National Trust) nearby. We also like to visit Fountain’s Abbey (National Trust), where you can find pram friendly walks and wild deer roaming around.
Evenings Back at Camp
It’s such a nice campsite to come back to after a day of exploring, we usually grab some food in the pub and then sit outside watching the last of the sun sink over the hedgerows. We can’t wait to return in May and see if Luca can remember there’s a sand pit tractor, bet you a bevvy he does.
Wrapping Up
So, whether you’re planning a March escape, an Easter break in April, or a sunny May weekend away, spring really is the perfect time to get outside, explore, and make some lovely family memories. We can’t wait to get out there, watch Luca have the best time in sand pits, stroll in the sunshine, and definitely enjoy a cheeky drink in the pub garden ourselves! Follow along with us over on @thetinycaravanner to see what we get up to, and if you’ve got any spring camping favourites, we’d love to hear your recommendations too.
