What I loved about it:

New for 2025, Glitch is the latest nightmare to emerge from the shadows of Tulleys Shocktober Fest. Deep within an abandoned barn lies the wreckage of a secret government experiment, where a doctor’s vision for human perfection fractured into chaos. A glitch in time has torn reality apart, and now C.A.D., a corrupted artificial entity, waits within. Step inside and you’ll find yourself trapped in its digital web as it hacks your thoughts, controls your senses, and begins to delete your very identity. In this twisted realm where science and insanity collide, your senses will be heightened with eerie smells, sights, and sounds. This isn’t for the faint-hearted.

Suitable for:

Shocktober Fest is recommended for ages 16 and up, but if you’re under 16, you must be accompanied by a fully paying adult (18 or older) for the entire evening.

Value for money (out of 10):

8 – X-Scream passes cost from £42.95 per person, and you can also choose to upgrade your ticket to include Fast Track passes. I recommend paying £82.95 per person and including six Fast Track passes to skip the queues.

Why I love Shocktober Fest:

Every October, I count down the days until Tulleys Farm’s Shocktober Fest returns; it’s hands down my favourite Halloween tradition. There’s nothing quite like stepping into Europe’s Largest Scream Park, where the air buzzes with anticipation and every corner hides a fright or surprise.

The 11 award-winning haunts are the main draw, each one more immersive and terrifying than the last. I love the theatricality of Electrick Circus, where Sparky the Clown’s undead performers shock and delight in equal measure, and the twisted chaos of Wastelands Penitentiary, where inmates rule the ruins. The Haunted Hayride: Route 666 never fails to send chills down my spine as forgotten spirits rise from the fog, while The Carving turns a wholesome family dinner into a nightmarish ritual. Every haunt tells its own sinister story, brought vividly to life by incredible live actors who make you feel like you’ve stepped straight into a horror film.

But Shocktober Fest is far more than just scares; it’s a full-on Halloween festival. I love wandering between haunts, grabbing a drink, and catching a live show at the CarnEvil Cabaret, where burlesque, illusions, and daring stunts captivate the crowd. The Wastelands Fire & Light Show is pure spectacle, with fire dancers and prisoners creating a 360-degree inferno of entertainment, while three stages of live music and DJs keep the energy high all night. By 10 PM, the unmissable Poker’s Party erupts, where street characters dance, scream, and celebrate in the ultimate Halloween finale.

For thrill-seekers, the night doesn’t stop there. Between haunts and shows, I can’t resist the extra-adrenaline rides like X-LR8 and the Slingshot, which launch you into the night sky, or testing my nerve on the Shock Chairs and Axe Throwing. And of course, the food and drink are just as memorable, everything from Bentley’s BBQ Grill serving up smoky comfort food and The Reaper Bar pouring themed cocktails, to street food stalls offering everything from hearty hog roasts to vegan delights. I always finish the night with something sweet — fresh donuts, churros, or a bag of Pic ‘n Mix, before heading home hoarse from screaming and laughing in equal measure.

For me, Shocktober Fest isn’t just an event, it’s a Halloween pilgrimage. A place where creativity, chaos, and community collide under a blood moon sky, and where every scream feels like pure joy.

Seal of approval:
My absolute favourite night of the year, and the attention to detail and new attractions keep getting better and better. If you’re going to do one spooky thing this Halloween season, make sure it’s Shocktober Fest.
