Love2Stay Shrewsbury Review: The Luxury Glamping Resort More Families Should Know About

We'd only discovered this luxury family glamping resort ourselves a couple of months earlier, and after seeing everything it had to offer, we couldn't wait to visit. We were invited on a gifted stay to experience Love2Stay Shropshire for ourselves, and it was an easy yes from us.
As a family, we’re always looking for UK staycations that strike the perfect balance – somewhere the kids are completely entertained, while we can properly switch off too. Love2Stay Shrewsbury certainly looked like it ticked all those boxes.
After spending a few days there, I can honestly say it’s so much more than a glamping site.
In fact, it feels more like a luxury family resort than anything else – somewhere between a high-end holiday park and a nature escape, designed for both relaxation and fun in equal measure.
And it kept surprising us in the best way.

First Impressions
Arriving at Love2Stay Shrewsbury, you are clearly signposted to reception, where we were asked to park in a waiting bay before checking in.
The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. They took time to explain everything properly, from the lodge facilities to how often the hot tubs are cleaned and maintained, which immediately gave us confidence in how well everything is run.
My first impression wasn’t necessarily “luxury resort” straight away – it felt more like a really well-organised, family-focused holiday park. But that’s not a bad thing at all. In fact, it actually made me even more excited for the stay because it felt relaxed, friendly and built for families. We hadn’t even seen the views yet, so there was still plenty to discover.

The Accommodation
We stayed in one of the Laurel Lodges, and it was genuinely one of the nicest caravan-style accommodations we’ve stayed in.
Inside, everything felt modern, clean and really well thought out – with a kitchen, living space, bathrooms and bedrooms that felt spacious and comfortable. I don’t think I spotted a single thing that wasn’t spotless.
Outside is where it really shines.
Each lodge has its own private hot tub, fire pit and picnic bench, which makes it just as easy to relax outside as it is inside. We loved sitting out in the morning with breakfast and then coming back later in the evening once the kids had worn themselves out.
The Laurel Lodges are also arranged in their own area, almost like a quiet cul-de-sac, which gave it a really nice community feel without ever feeling busy.
In the centre, there’s also a shared wellness space with another hot tub, sauna and ice shower, which was a great extra touch and something we didn’t expect.
As much as we loved it, I won’t lie, after walking around, I’ve already got my eye on the Safari Lodges and Black Barns for next time. They looked incredible.

Things To Do (and plenty of them)
There is so much more to Love2Stay than just the accommodation. There is a busy calendar of adult and kid activities to pick from, and the prices were really reasonable. There’s a gym and a spa, too, that we have on our list for next time.
We booked a tie-dye workshop for the kids, where they made their own T-shirts to take home, and there were lots of other craft activities running throughout the day, too, with different time slots available to fit in with your day.
We also tried the movie time, which takes place inside a dark, cosy tent where the kids pick the film and get popcorn included – such a simple idea but really well done.
Our eldest also tried paddle boarding, which is available for ages 8+, what an experience for her – she’s now hooked!
Even if you don’t book activities, there is still so much to do.
There’s a huge playground with sections for both younger and older children, including a more obstacle-style area that kept them busy for ages. There’s also a big open field for football and running around, which added to that freedom feeling.
Add in the pool, hot springs and general space to explore, and it really does feel like the children are constantly entertained without you having to plan every minute of the day.
That, for me, was one of the biggest wins – we could actually relax.

The Pools & Hot Springs
The pool area was one of the most unique parts of the stay.
The main swimming pool is a natural pool, which I’ll admit took me a little while to get used to as I’m slightly squeamish, but that’s just personal preference. Once you’re in, it’s actually a really interesting experience and definitely not your standard hotel pool.
The hot springs area, though, was the standout.
With sand, loungers and hot tubs around the edge, it honestly felt like we’d been transported abroad for a few hours. The kids loved being able to play in the sand while we relaxed nearby, and it had a really chilled, holiday feel to it.
It did get a bit busier in the afternoon, but we still managed to find sunbeds and take it in turns between the pool and hot tubs.
There’s also food and drink available around the pool, which makes it really easy to stay there for a few hours without needing to head back to the lodge.

Food & Drink
Love2Stay has one main café and restaurant area near reception that serves everything from breakfast through to evening meals.
Breakfast was a real highlight for us – genuinely one of the best we’ve had – my husband couldn’t believe the quality of the fry-up and the kids were in their element with their pancakes. Everything was fresh, well presented and much better than we expected.
We also had pizza one evening, and watching them being cooked in the wood-fired oven added to the experience. You can eat in or take away, which is really convenient.
There’s plenty of outdoor seating too, which makes it feel really relaxed when the weather is good. We did have the odd wasp around (as you do in summer), but that’s just part of eating outside really.
Service was occasionally a little slow during busy times, but food arrived quickly once ordered and the quality more than made up for it.

The Hidden Gem: it was perfect for groups
One of the biggest surprises for us was just how good Love2Stay would be for groups.
We saw families who had clearly booked multiple lodges together, and it made so much sense. There are BBQ huts available to hire, a pizza hut where you can bring your own food, and plenty of picnic benches around the open spaces.
Right next to the main field, we watched kids playing football while adults sat eating and chatting – it had such a nice atmosphere.
There’s also a shared fire pit area decorated with festoon lighting, which honestly felt like the perfect setting for birthdays, reunions or group weekends away.
By the end of the stay, I was already thinking this would be such a good place to come back to with a bigger group.

Why Love2Stay Feels Different
What stood out most is how well everything is thought through.
It feels luxurious, but never pretentious. Everything is designed so families can enjoy themselves without stress, and that balance is really hard to get right.
There’s a full activity programme running throughout the week, the pricing feels fair, and there are always spaces where adults can relax while children are entertained.
The staff also deserve a mention – everyone we met was friendly, helpful and genuinely made the experience better.
And then there are the views. Whether you’re around the lodges or out in the open spaces, you’re surrounded by beautiful Shropshire countryside, which really helps you switch off.
Things to know before you book
- Book your activities in advance during peak times
- Bring plenty of swimwear – you’ll use it a lot
- The natural pool is different from a standard pool, so expect that
- Consider upgrading lodges if you want something more premium
- It’s a great option for both families and larger groups

Would we return?
Without a doubt.
We’ve stayed at a lot of family staycation spots, but Love2Stay Shrewsbury genuinely surprised us. It’s one of those rare places where the kids are constantly entertained, but the adults actually feel like they’ve had a proper break too.
After sharing our stay online, I couldn’t believe how many people hadn’t heard of it, but hopefully that changes now, because it’s somewhere I think more families should have on their radar.
If you’re looking for a UK staycation that combines luxury glamping, family-friendly activities and a proper chance to switch off, Love2Stay absolutely delivers.
